Central Technology Project,
Initiated December, 2005
The need for reliable and faster information technology prompted the district to improve or replace facilities originally installed in 1984. Three computing centers located at; Kingswood, Hudson Distribution Center and the Fort Hayes Metropolitan High School required power and environmental conditioning beyond the capabilities of their antiquated systems. Funding approved by the voters through the Capital Improvements Project was allocated to provide:
  • Reliable and efficient power with failover capability to provide uninterrupted services
  • Efficient cooling for the present and future demands of installed equipment
  • An increase in computer room space from 3,120 to 7,213 square feet to relieve overcrowding and provide for future expansion
  • Improved security for equipment, staff and areas for State testing requirements
  • Enhanced data communications for both present and future
  • Increased office space for present and future needs
