Dominic Paretti was elected to the Columbus City Schools Board of Education in 2013. Since then, he has maintained his focus on making Columbus City Schools more accountable, transparent, and inclusive. Mr. Paretti currently chairs the Finance and Appropriations Committee and the Policy Review Committee. He previously co-chaired the Master Facilities Plan Ad Hoc Committee.
Mr. Paretti is the youngest of six children and was raised by his single mom who often worked two jobs to make ends meet. Mr. Paretti spent his entire education in public schools, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. While in college, he first got involved in public service as an intern in the office of the Mayor of Cincinnati.
For nearly a decade, Mr. Paretti has served in the Ohio House of Representatives in various capacities including as a legislative aide, a policy analyst, and a special assistant to the Chief of Staff. Mr. Paretti’s experience in the state legislature offers him a unique perspective on the relationship between our state government and our local school districts. Dominic has brought these experiences to the Board of Education to enact policies that help our children.
Mr. Paretti is married to his best friend and wife, Leslie. They reside in the German Village neighborhood of Columbus.
