The K-5 Reading and Writing Milestone documents are designed to highlight or focus on some key indicators of students who are reading and writing on grade level. Because reading and writing are complex processes, especially in the development of early literacy, we have included suggested resources that provide a more comprehensive and prescriptive description of the various stages of reading and writing.
