Science Partnerships/Programs

The CCS Science Department is pleased to work with partner and community organizations to bring additional science learning opportunities to our teachers and students.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
The Columbus Zoo and  Aquarium believes every child should have the opportunity to discover and engage in the wonders of the natural world.  Therefore, the zoo offers "The Learning is Wild Scholarship Fund" which allows school groups up to 75% of your total field trip cost.  Click here to learn more about scholarship opportunities or contact Becky Nellis via email at teacher@columbuszoo.org
Materials Science
This program is a partnership between CCS, The Ohio State University, and ASM Foundation.
CCS teachers attended a week-long intensive Materials Camp during the summer to learn more about materials science. Through this partnership additional professional development continues throughout the school year.  Click here for more information or contact Howard Greene via email at greene.8@osu.edu
Metro Parks
S.E.E.D., Students Exploring Ecosystem Dynamics, is a partnership program between CCS and Columbus Metro Parks. 5th grade students engage in a 9-week intensive environmental education curriculum, attend a field trip at a Columbus Metro Park, and have in-class visits with a CMP Naturalist. Click here for more information or contact Tanya Taylor via email at tanyataylor@metroparks.net
