Hello CCPSG Parents and Families,
In Celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, I’d like to recognize the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Please check out these links to learn more about the achievements and contributions Hispanic champions have made, listen to recordings from Hispanic Authors, schedule to attend a Smithsonian virtual workshop like “Young Portrait Explorers: Carmen Herrera” or visit her artwork virtually at The Whitney Museum of American Art, and learn about local celebrations you could plan to attend with your family right here in Columbus. Perhaps my two favorites are Latin Music and Hispanic food. The last links are The 50 Best Latin Songs of All Time complete with videos of the songs and 20 Popular Hispanic Food Every Foodie Should Try. When I was young, I lived in Venezuela and compiling these resources brought back great memories from my childhood. I hope you enjoy them, too.
Parent Teacher Conferences have been scheduled for October 14th and October 26th. Conferences will be from 3-6:45pm. To schedule a conference with your student’s Teachers, reach out to your student’s Teacher by phone or email. If you’d like to schedule a conference with me or would like me to join your conference already scheduled with your student’s Teachers, please let me know or let the Teachers know. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school at (614) 365-6113.
In partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the City of Columbus and Columbus City Schools, CCPSG will offer our 8th Graders will have the Get Real Program during the month of October. The 9-session curriculum will cover a variety of topics aimed at building skills and knowledge to improve the health and safety of our students. Our young ladies will bring home information about this program and I will send the same information to you through the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus through the Notifications.
It has been a joy getting to know your student and our students at CCPSG. I am looking forward to more interactions and good times with our students as the school year unfolds. Please reach out to me if I can help in any way.
All the best and have a wonderful day!
