Google Resources

  • Columbus City Schools is a Google school district.  All teachers have access to G-Suite Apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).  CCS teachers and students also have access to Google Classroom.  At this time, CCS teachers and students do not have access to gmail via their CCS Google school account.

    Google access directions for CCS teachers and students may be found below.  
    The CCS eLearning webpage has useful information from the eLearning Committee.

    Activate Google with CCS Email

    In order to use the Google for Education features, including Google Classroom, you will need to activate Google with your CCS email even if you have a personal gmail account. Please follow the directions below.  

    • Top right corner select Sign In
    • Activate using your CCS email and CCS email password
    • If you get a message about contacting CCS Administrator, you will need to hit Control+ Alt+ Delete and change your CCS password.  You will then return to the first step.


    Google Classroom

    • Log in using your CCS  email and password
    • Identify yourself as a teacher
    • Click the + sign in the upper right hand corner 
      • To join a class, enter the code provided to you by the creator of the class
      • To create your own class, click create


    For Students To Access Google  

    • Top right corner select Sign In
    • Activate using their student ID followed by   Ex:
    • Use their birthday as their password.  Ex: 03-30-2001
    • Students may then join a classroom in Google Classroom.  They need to identify themselves as a student and then join a class using the code provided by their teacher.
    • This will not give them access to gmail.
