New Graduation Requirements

There’s no one-size-fits-all way to prove you are ready to graduate high school and start a successful and productive life in college, at a job, or in the military. In Ohio, you have multiple pathways to qualify for a high school diploma, in addition to meeting the credit requirements set by the Columbus Board of Education.

Recent changes in state law provide five different graduation options for students in the Class of 2019 and Class of 2020. It's important that you know which pathway you will take.

You must complete and earn the Columbus City Schools' district minimum of 22 credits in specific subjects. Detailed requirements are on the Academic Graduation Planner available at your school or online. See your school counselor for planning and support.
