Columbus Teaching Academy (CTA)

     OSU Columbus Teaching Academy (CTA)

    · Offered to any CCS senior as well as students in Grandview, Upper Arlington and Westerville interested in the teaching profession

    · Approximately 25 students are selected for this program based on GPA, attendance, behavior, and recommendations

    · Students attend half-days on OSU main campus in class taught by CCS teacher, and also complete internships at CCS or suburban elementary and middle schools

    · Students must complete a portfolio that meets or exceeds portfolio criteria established by the Ohio Department of Education and a Webexam

    · Students participate in selected OSU freshman first-year experiences (e.g., book study, lectures, OSU advising)

    · Students receive articulated credit for early childhood education class or freshman early experience 

    · The college credit is for Teaching Professions Education Principles.  This program is offered exclusively at Downtown High School.
