In July 2023, Columbus City Schools was awarded $1.7 million by the Ohio Department of Education to address chronic absenteeism in the district. The funds will also allow for additional supports for students not responding to Tier 1 and 2 supports such as risk assessments and short term therapy.

The following are upcoming deadlines in Title 1 Crate:

October 6, 2023 -- Annual Meeting to Parents and Federally Paid Teacher Schedule

October 27, 2023 -- First quarter evidence of parent involvement activities and School Parent Involvement Plan

The district has a process in place to apply for competitive grants. After identifying a grant, the grant endorsement process must be completed. For additional information on this process, first access the training module found in PublicSchoolWorks to learn how to use this online application. The Course Catalog Number is C-001, Course Number C-165, Title: CCS Grant Endorsement Procedures. When the training has been completed, the Grant Endorsement can be found in CCSDAS under General Request.

If you are looking to launch a gardening initiative at your school, keep an eye out for these two upcoming garden grants.

• Lorrie Otto Seeds for Education Fund, which offers $100 to $500. Due 11/15.
• Youth Garden Grant (award amount varies) Due 12/15.

There have been changes to the coding for requisitions. Please see below for clarification. To give time to create the proper workflow in Munis, and to allow time for budget transfers, this guidance will go into effect November 1, 2023 for Object 517 expenditures.
