District Honors and Recognition Program
The superintendent and Columbus Board of Education members most recently celebrated the academic and athletic achievements of more than 500 District students, staff and community members on November 19, 2019, at Columbus Downtown High School.
The District’s Honors and Recognition celebration is a formal approach to acknowledge exceptional student achievement, employee accomplishments and the contribution of community members, business partners and volunteers before the Columbus Board of Education.
Any district student or employee, volunteer, contract employee, board member or member of the public can make a nomination with an emphasis on how it supports the CCS mission statement: Each student is highly educated, prepared for leadership and service, and empowered for success as a citizen in a global community.
- To involve all employees, students, volunteers and the community members in the recognition of excellent work to support student success.
- To promote innovation that results in productivity and performance improvements.
- To promote team spirit and unity of purpose within the district, based on shared achievement.
- To demonstrate commitment to the ideals of respect for individuals and honor of the public trust.
Note: Any district student, business/civic partner, volunteer, employee (part-time, full-time, temporary, or substitute) is eligible to be nominated.
