WHAT IS JUMPSTART TO KINDERGARTEN?
On August 12th, 2021, we will be introducing the building to Kindergartners before other students arrive. We will also introduce building expectations and do some activities to get the students familiar with the teachers and their peers.
Parents/Guardians are invited to attend a 30 minute info session with Principal Horstman immediately following drop-off at 9am, you will then return at 12:30pm to pick up your student.
You will also have the opportunity to schedule your student's Kindergarten Readiness Assessment for either August 26th, 27th, or 30th.
WHAT IS THE KINDERGARTEN READINESS ASSESSMENT?
The KRA is a state assessment that focuses on four areas of early learning: Social Foundations, Mathematics, Language and Literacy, and Physical Well-Being/Motor Development
The assessment will take place on either August 26th, 27th, or 30th and your student will only come in for their scheduled time slot, then return home.
WHEN IS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL?
Kindergarteners will be on a staggered start so that they can participate in the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (see above)
Tuesday, August 31st is the first full day for ALL Kindergarteners
WHEN WILL I KNOW WHICH TEACHER MY STUDENT HAS?
Classroom assignments will be announced by the end of the first day of school (August 31st)
WHAT SCHOOL SUPPLIES DO WE NEED?
The Kindergarten supply list (and all other grade levels) can be found under the FAMILIES tab on our website, or by clicking: ccsoh.us/domain/4172
