Higher Education Partnerships
Helping students pursue their post-secondary educational
and career goals
The Department of Higher Education Partnerships was created in collaboration with our local colleges and universities. CCS and local colleges and universities have had a long-standing informal partnership to increase student achievement and to support staff development. The Department of Higher Education Partnerships works closely with our partners and district staff to implement and support state initiatives that can help students pursue their post-secondary educational and career goals.

Programs

The State of Ohio's College Credit Plus Program can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from colleges and/or universities. In place of regular high school classes, students can take college courses and earn credits that can be transferred to colleges and universities after graduation. Students may choose to take courses on the college campus, online (when offered), or in their high school (when offered).

Junior JumpStart (JJS) is a dual enrollment program for juniors that enables students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously. Participating juniors will spend a portion of their day at their high school and a portion of their day at Columbus State Community College completing their high school requirements and earning approximately 9 semester hours. Students must apply and be accepted into the program as 10th-graders.

Seniors-to-Sophomores (S2S) is a highly selective, dual enrollment program for seniors that enables them to earn a year worth of high school and college credit simultaneously. The program will allow students to be challenged academically, gain valuable life skills and enter college as a sophomore. Student participants are chosen through a selection process after applying and meeting the program’s eligibility requirements.
