Welcome Mr. Bailey
Dear Parents/Guardians of Woodward Park MS,
It is my honor and privilege to be joining the Woodward Park Middle School community as the building Principal for the 2019-2020 school year. I would like to thank Mrs. Diane Agnes for her dedicated service to the Woodward Park community and the legacy of excellence she has established. I am honored to take the momentum she has established to the next level as we educate, elevate and motivate every child, every day here at Woodward Park. I would also like to say it is good to come home to the north side, as I have previously been an Assistant Principal at Clinton MS (2009-2010) and at Medina MS (2010-2013) and prior to coming to Woodward Park, I was the Principal at Westmoor MS (2013-2019). I am beginning my twentieth year as an educator in The Columbus City Schools. I would also like to introduce my administrative team. Mrs. Rhoda Arrington (6th Grade Principal) Mr. Kevin Jackson (7th Grade Principal) and Mrs. Lisa Davis (8th grade Principal). They are truly dynamic!
As you may know, the main building on Karl Road (7th/8th grade building) is receiving a huge upgrade to the HVAC system along with a new fire alarm system upgrade. The contractors have been working all summer and still have much work to do. As a result, we have not been able to have access to the main building and will not have access until Monday, August 19, 2019, which is the day our amazing teachers and staff return to work to prepare for your child’s first day on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
Parents, if you have already created your account in the parent portal through infinite campus, you will have access to your child’s schedule. For those who have not yet created your account in the portal, students homerooms will be posted in the main lobby and in the cafeteria on Thursday, Aug 22nd and students will receive their schedule in their homeroom.
Finally parents, if you drop off your student or pick them up, I caution you to drive slowly through the parking lot as students cross the driveway at the exit onto Karl Rd and during arrival/dismissal time there are approximately 650 students entering/exiting the building or walking to their busses and/or walking home. Please use extreme caution as our kids are our most precious commodity and we take their life and safety very seriously. I am excited to get to know our students, parents and staff at Woodward Park and I am thrilled for the amazing potential we have to be the best academically and behaviorally performing middle school in Columbus City Schools. I know without a doubt we can do this if we work together and support one another If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call. We are here to work with you and your child to realize and achieve their goals.
