Students Join Move Together Community Event

On Wednesday, March 19, Move Together Columbus kicked off their inaugural walk with Columbus City Schools at West High School. Move Together is a local organization that encourages Columbus area residents to be healthier and happier through movement of all kinds - walking, running, jogging, or even dancing!

For their kickoff event, Move Columbus and their community partners hosted a mile-long walk through the Westgate neighborhood starting at West. Several students came out for the event, earning internship hours and connecting with their community.

"The event was fun," Ianna Price, a West freshman, said. "It felt short; I didn't know a mile was that short."

Walking a mile may sound intimidating, but Ianna and her friend, Mariah, both completed it with ease. They enjoyed walking outside in the nice weather and are both interested in attending another Move Together walk in the future.

The next Move Together walk at West High School will be this summer on July 23rd. We hope to see everyone there!
