A Spring Break Message from Superintendent/CEO Dr. Angela Chapman
Dear Columbus City Schools Staff and Families,
I am grateful for the hard work and dedication our students, families, and staff have shown this school year. We've accomplished so much together, and seeing our community continue to thrive is inspiring.
As we welcome the arrival of spring and look forward to Spring Break from April 18 - 25, this season of bloom and renewal offers the perfect opportunity to rest, recharge, and refresh.
Whether you're spending time with loved ones, exploring new places, or simply relaxing at home, I encourage everyone to take this time to enjoy the moments that bring you joy.
If you're looking for fun ideas to enjoy with your family, consider taking a nature walk, visiting a local museum, enjoying a movie night, or trying out new recipes together. There are so many ways to spend quality time with those you care about!
Even though we're taking a break from the classroom, remember that learning continues! This spring break, take the time to explore new hobbies, dive into a good book, or try fun educational activities like a scavenger hunt or an art project.
Be sure to explore the exciting programs and activities available at your local Columbus Metropolitan Library. With 23 locations across the area, there's plenty of learning and adventure waiting to be discovered, with something fun for everyone.
Looking ahead, I also invite you to mark your calendars for an important event. Save the Date for the Fair School Funding: A CCS Community Town Hall, which will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at East High School, 1500 E. Broad Street.
This Town Hall will allow our community to come together for a vital conversation about the state of public education and the proposed state budget, including its direct impact on Columbus City Schools. Please click this link to register: https://forms.gle/wApLfkenmGwpfecz8.
The last six weeks will be busy but important as students return to school, especially with upcoming testing and state assessments. As always, remember that attendance is vital and will be key to student success. It will be important to make every day count. I’m asking for your help prioritizing attendance as we prepare for this final push through the end of the school year.
We will continue working together to ensure every student has the resources, support, and opportunities to succeed. I am excited about what lies ahead and our continued progress as a community.
Wishing you all a restful, fun, and safe Spring Break!
With gratitude,
Dr. Angela Chapman
