Meeting Agenda Topics
The meeting agenda topics include:
13.1 - Supporting Whole-Child Focus and Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with the College Board to purchase Advanced Placement (AP) tests to be administered to all Columbus City School students taking an AP class. Columbus City Schools’ high school students enrolled in AP courses may receive college credit upon attaining a score of three or higher on the AP exam. The AP exam is offered to students who take the AP courses and is required to receive college credit. It is expected that 930 students will take 1,194 exams in 20 different subject areas in May 2024.
13.4 - Supporting Strong Learning Communities in Every Region and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Christopher Farhat to provide continued translating, interpreting, and telephonic interpreting services. This will provide oral interpretation services to the English Learner (EL) families so we are in compliance with applicable State and Federal Laws.
14.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with CDW Government. This 12-month license for recovery software with the associated backup hardware will protect from the ongoing threat of cyberattacks, malicious users, and operational disruptions with automated, air-gapped, access-controlled backups. This software will also allow us to restore business operations quickly by recovering apps, files, or objects at scale.
14.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with CDW Government. This legislation will allow for the purchase of core network hardware (Switches, Access points) from CDW-G, replacing hardware and wireless access points in school buildings that are end-of life.
14.5 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement to purchase Versatrans routing software, maintenance and support from Tyler Technologies. The Office of Transportation has an ongoing need to enable the department to route students effectively and efficiently. This purchase will maintain a modern routing software and route nearly 40,000 students.
