Arts Impact Middle School Recognized for its Success with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
September 28, 2021 -- Congratulations to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) bronze award winner, Arts Impact Middle School! PBIS involves teaching students expected behaviors in a consistent and positive way, modeling and acknowledging those behaviors, and helping all students meet expectations and be successful. PBIS has been shown to improve student achievement, student behavior, and school climate. In 2015, Ohio PBIS Network first recognized schools that were model examples of strong PBIS.
In 2021, Arts Impact Middle School (AIMS) applied and earned the Bronze level. AIMS is one of 354 award-winning schools to be recognized at any of the levels: Gold (34), Silver (70), or Bronze (233). Arts Impact Middle School will be honored at the 2021 Ohio PBIS Showcase in conjunction with the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC) virtual conference on December 9, 2021. The theme for the conference is Responsive, Reimagined, and Resilient Leadership.
AIMS joins 44 other CCS schools that have earned either Gold, Silver, and Bronze recognition for their team-based planning and problem solving to implement PBIS interventions and support in schools.
Bronze-level schools can document evidence of a comprehensive system of behavioral supports at tier 1 with a Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) score of at least 70%. Silver-level schools must meet the criteria for bronze level and implement with a higher level of fidelity. These schools must also implement tier-II supports with a TFI of at least 70%. Finally, Gold-level schools must meet all the criteria for bronze and silver levels and implement at the highest level of fidelity. These schools must also maintain tier- II, and tier-III supports with a TFI of at least 70%.
