From GED's to Degrees: Record Breaking Year for Adult Education
May 29, 2025 -- As Columbus City Schools (CCS) gears up to honor the Class of 2025, Adult Education is celebrating with a record-breaking year across all programs! During the 2024-2025 school year, CCS successfully helped students earn their high school diploma or complete certifications in its workforce development programs.
High School Success:
A record-breaking 197 students earned their diploma or GED this year, making it one of the largest graduation classes in CCS!
- 51 earned a GED
- 64 graduated through the Adult Diploma Program through the Adult Diploma Program (with 26 more on the way!)
- 56 earned a CCS High School Diploma through Ohio’s 22+ program
Workforce Wins:
- 66 graduated from the Columbus School of Practical Nursing
- 24 became Certified Nurse Aides
- 10 completed HVACR training with 7 distinct certifications each
- 43 earned Digital Literacy Certifications
- 17 became Microsoft Office Specialists
Aspire & ESOL Highlights:
- 147 Aspire Program students transitioned to college
- 665 Adult ESOL students made Educational Level Gains
