Transition Planning for the Move to 100 Arcadia Ave.
As a result of significant growth in program and population in Region 4, in April 2018 the Columbus City Schools Board of Education created an external steering committee made up of community members and business leaders who were tasked with researching feasible solutions for the overcrowding at Dominion Middle School. As a result, in February 2019, the Columbus School Board passed a resolution to relocate the current program at Dominion Middle School to Columbus North High School facilitly located at 100 East Arcadia Avenue, as well as expand district language immersion programs through grade 8 at the current Dominion Middle School site.
In June 2019, a steering committe was created comprised of current Dominion students, parents, staff and community members, including the Polar Bear Club of North High School, to guide the work of transitioning the program to the North High School facility, serve as a liaison between stakeholders and the district, as well as, guide the process of recreating the Dominion program, rebranding and building community partnerships.
