COTA Bus Adventure
A group of our outstanding SLC students had the chance to explore a COTA bus up close! Students learned how to navigate the bus routes and practiced using their student ID to ride the buses. Hear more from two students, Aniya Burgess and Jeremy, about their experiences below.
Aniya Burgess: We learned about the the COTA bus. We learned how to use our school card and where we have to stop on the COTA bus. We also learned to charge or phones on the bus and how we know what bus we get on and where to get off.
We also learned about app transit, subway & bus times, and that there’s a stop button and a yellow string that you pull to stop at your destination. There's charging for your phone, and we learned how to use all the things on the COTA bus.
This is inspired by West High School and the COTA.
Jeremy: The COTA bus came to West High, and it was a new experience. I learned how to use the bike rack. I learned how to signal the bus to stop by pulling the rope.
The bus had wifi and charging ports to charge my phone. I learned what the bus numbers meant - the year the bus was made and the order they got it.
Thank you to COTA for coming to West and teaching our students about public transportation!
