HELP NEEDED: Mileage Club!

The first day of the fall season of Mileage Club will be TOMORROW, Tuesday, September 11. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 am on the Calumet playground. Mileage Club is open to all students, and it's Indianola's most popular club! Students walk or run laps around the playground before school begins and accumulate stamps on a card for each lap. For every 20 laps, students earn a foot-shaped charm to wear on a chain that we provide.
There's no need to sign up -- just show up! (Bus riders join us as their buses arrive.)

Mileage Club does not happen without your help! Parents are encouraged to stamp cards and socialize with others. Students should eat breakfast at home or at school before coming to Mileage Club.

Help Needed: Parking Change for Bus Safety

On Thursday, September 13 our K-3 students will participate in bus safety presentations.  Families need to know there is No Parking on Druid along the fence next to the blacktop playground that morning.

Parents who enter the building with their child should park in the lot across Weber. Please do not exit your car if you are westbound on Tibet between Druid and Calumet - this is always a designated No Parking area.

Techie Club Applications Available

Techie Club includes hands-on, interactive lessons for 6th - 8th grade students. The goal of Techie Club is to expose students to different technology concepts, to incite interest and encourage exploration. Techie Clubs are comprised of up to 20 students and meets weekly after school until 5pm each Thursday from September 27 through December 13.
TECH CORPS staff trains teams of tech-savvy volunteers from IBM to work with students at Indianola K8.
Students will be selected based on their essay and recommendations from school staff.  Please complete the Student Application and Permission Form and return to the school office before September 20, 2018. Additional applications can be picked up in the office if you did not receive one.

Help Needed: Box Top Competition

Bring in your box tops and fill up other class bins! Yes, that's right, the class with the LEAST box tops win!

Tubs will be counted in November and the class with the fewest box tops will vote on their prize!  Prize options will be announced by your teachers soon!

Absent? Tardy? Email!

Please send an email right away to when your student is going to be absent.  If the student's absence or late arrival is due to a doctor, dental, or court appointment, PLEASE get a written excuse from the office you are visiting. Picking up a child early without a valid reason will be counted as unexcused.

Please email documentation to Denise (see above) or fax to 614-365-8324. Thank you for your cooperation!
