Help Needed: Mileage Club

The first day of the fall season of Mileage Club will be TOMORROW, Tuesday, September 3. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 am on the Calumet playground. Mileage Club is open to all students, and it's Indianola's most popular club! Students walk or run laps around the playground before school begins and accumulate stamps on a card for each lap. For every 20 laps, students earn a foot-shaped charm to wear on a chain that we provide.
There's no need to sign up -- just show up! (Bus riders join us as their buses arrive.)

Mileage Club does not happen without your help! Parents are encouraged to stamp cards and socialize with others. Students should eat breakfast at home or at school before coming to Mileage Club.

Time for Collaboration and ParticiPaTiOn!

Family engagement and collaboration with our amazing staff allow us to accomplish many goals each school year! We need you to be a part of it all!
Our first PTO meeting of the year is Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30 pm in the school library(childcare provided). The PTO meets the first Wednesday of each month and everyone in the school community is encouraged to attend!
Pizza will be provided during the September and January meetings.

Mark your calendars for the Indianola Ice Cream Social Friday, September 6 from 6-7:30 in the cafeteria. Visit with other families, purchase spirit wear and just relax on a Friday evening. There is no cost for this event. We do ask that families supervise their children during the ice cream social.
We need your help to make this event a success. If you have 30 minutes to help, sign up here.

Absent? Tardy? Email!

Please send an email right away to when your student is going to be absent.  If the student's absence or late arrival is due to a doctor, dental, or court appointment, PLEASE get a written excuse from the office you are visiting. Picking up a child early without a valid reason will be counted as unexcused.

Please email documentation to Denise (see above) or fax to 614-365-8324. Thank you for your cooperation!

BalletMet Soar on Saturdays

Soar on Saturdays is a dance access program aimed to give young students (ages 8-12) the opportunity to explore movement over the course of a free six-week dance class. Four different six-week sessions will be offered throughout the 2019-2020 academic year, each featuring a unique style of dance. Classes meet once a week. At the end of each six-week session, students are given the opportunity to share what they have learned with parents, friends, and family at an in-studio demonstration. Class size is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
