A Message from Superintendent/CEO Dr. Angela Chapman
Dear CCS Community,
As we close out another impactful school year, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you, our families, for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement in your children's education has made a difference in helping our students grow, learn, and succeed.
This year has been filled with growth and notable progress, none of which would be possible without you. Throughout the school year, I have seen our students tackle challenges head-on and achieve things they never thought possible.
No matter what grade your child just completed, I hope you take pride in the gains they’ve made and feel hopeful about what’s ahead. At Columbus City Schools, we are committed to creating vibrant, engaging learning environments where every student can dream big and achieve even more.
Looking ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, we continue to remain focused on building dynamic learning environments, expanding opportunities that inspire curiosity and creativity, and ensuring every child is prepared for success both in and beyond the classroom. From new programming to strengthened academic and extracurricular offerings, we are committed to creating meaningful pathways for every student to thrive.
While summer offers a well-earned break, it also marks the beginning of our next journey together. I encourage you to find time to read with your child, explore new interests, and reflect on the progress they’ve made.
Be sure to stay connected with us throughout the summer months on our social media platforms and website for updates on CCS summer events and resources to support a strong start in August.
One of the best ways to prepare for the new school year is by joining us at the Columbus City Schools Back to School Resource Fair on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fort Hayes Campus. It’s one of the largest back to school events in the city, featuring free backpacks, books, and school supplies.
Over 100 CCS departments and community partners will be onsite to help your family access valuable resources, including health screenings, home safety information, after-school programs, and social services. Free parking will be available at Columbus State Community College (250 Cleveland Avenue), with available shuttle service from Columbus State to the Fort Hayes Campus.

I wish all of you a wonderful, restful summer. Enjoy your time with family and friends, recharge, and prepare for another exciting year! I look forward to seeing all that we achieve together in the 2025-2026 school year.
Thank you for making this school year one to remember!
With gratitude,
Dr. Angela Chapman
