August 6, 2020 -- Ohio is making back-to-school shopping a little easier this weekend for Columbus City Schools families.
The state’s annual sales-tax-free weekend for school supplies and clothing begins this Friday, August 7, through midnight Sunday, August 9.
The Sales Tax Holiday waives the 5.75% state sales tax in store and online for those shopping for certain items of clothing, back-to-school supplies, ,and teaching materials.
Exempt items include: clothing items priced up to $75, school supplies up to $20 and school instructional materials at $20 or less. There is no limit on the number of items, and the exemption applies to all in store and online purchases.
