Dr. Johnson's Weekly Update
Hello Vikings,
This is Principal Johnson with a few updates for this week.
This week we welcome in the month of October which means the end of first grading period is coming soon. Beginning Monday, we only have 16 school days remaining in the first grading period. Parents and guardians should be checking on grades and attendance on a regular basis to ensure your student is on-track to earn a passing grade this marking period. If you need help logging into Infinite Campus, please contact the main office and we will be happy to assist you.
Your Voice Matters!
The Fall Family Panorama Survey opens tomorrow through October 10. Your input helps us to improve how we connect with students and families. Here is the link for the family survey for parents and guardians:

Students will take their survey on Thursday during their 3rd period class. If they are absent, they can take it any time through October 10 with the QR code provided by their teacher.
Homecoming Activities
Homecoming 2025 is right around the corner. Students selected by their peers for the Homecoming Court were announced this week. Here are a few upcoming activities:
1. Friday, October 3 @ 1:30 PM - Royal Assembly
2. Friday, October 10 @ 5 PM - Homecoming Parade around Tamarack Circle
3. Friday, October 10 @ 7PM - Homecoming Football Game at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 can be purchased at Locallevelevents.com or at the door.
4. Saturday, October 11 from 7PM to 10PM - Homecoming Dance at Valley Dale Ballroom
Tickets are $30 per person. Use this link to order tickets:
https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/41688A free bus will be available for students who want/need to be transported from Northland to Valley Dale for the Homecoming Dance. Students should arrive at Northland by 6:30 p.m. The bus will depart at 6:45 p.m. and return to Northland at 10:30 p.m.
Closed Lunch Policy
Please be mindful that Northland has a closed lunch policy. That means that students are not allowed to leave school or have food delivered to the school during their lunch period. If students violate this policy, they are subject to discipline. Your support is appreciated.
PSAT
All sophomores and juniors will take a practice PSAT at Northland High School beginning Monday, October 6 through Thursday, October 16. The test begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. for morning testers and at 11:00 a.m. for afternoon testers. Our testing coordinator handles registration. Students will receive information about the PSAT, including instructions on how to download the Bluebook App on their school-issued Chromebooks. The Student Guide is available here. Please reach out to your student’s school counselor or our testing coordinator for more information.
