  • Dr. Johnson's Weekly Update

    Hello Vikings,

This is Principal Johnson with a few updates for this week.

    Connecting with Staff
If you were not able to attend the Open House, don’t fear.  You can always schedule a meeting with your child’s teachers.  You can reach out to them directly or call the main office and we can help schedule a meeting for you. By now, your student should have grades in Infinite Campus for you to review and discuss.

    Immunization Exclusion Day
Tomorrow is a day designated by the State of Ohio as schoolwide Immunization Exclusion Day. Students who do not have an updated vaccine record on file with the school, or are not up-to-date on vaccines according to their record will need to remain home on unexcused absence until they are able to provide a record/proof.

    Picture Day
Picture Day is Friday, September 19 through English classes.  These will be the pictures used in Infinite Campus and the yearbook.  Plan accordingly. A makeup day has not yet been scheduled.

    Whole Child Supports
Ohio passed a law requiring all students to have access to Child Abuse Prevention Education. The curriculum teaches students about this difficult topic and encourages them to seek help, if needed. Later this month, students will be watching State-approved child abuse education and prevention videos to address this law. Click here if you would like more information about the lessons.

    Community Resource Fair & Forum
Join us Monday, September 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a community resource fair.  You can connect with such resources as the Boys and Girls Club, our school-based Nationwide Children’s Hospital Clinic, and tour recently renovated spaces on our campus.  After the fair and refreshments, stick around to meet candidates who are running for the CCS School Board.

    Contact Information
Don’t hesitate to contact our main office at 614-365-5342 if you have any questions or concerns.  You may also email me directly at JJohnson5103@columbus.k12.oh.us.

  • CCS is a No Phone Zone District

Research shows that when students disconnect from their cell phones during the school day, they become more attentive, perform better academically, and develop stronger connections with their teachers and peers. Our goal is not to penalize, but to create learning environments where every student is fully engaged and distraction-free.
