Hello,
On behalf of the Columbus Division of Police Public Safety Corps (PSCs) Program, I would like to invite you to check out one of our meetings to see what the program is all about. We meet every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30p-9:00p at the Columbus Police Training Academy located 1000 N. Hague Ave. PSCs enter at the Recruit entrance which is located in parking section C, on the far left side of the Academy as you are entering from the drive-way. Once at the meeting, we can provide you with the application and all the paperwork and other materials you need to get started.
All candidates must meet certain criteria in order to be accepted into the program. In order to be a PSC you must be 14-20 years of age and completed the 8th grade. We conduct criminal background checks on all candidates. In order to be eligible you cannot have any previous felony convictions or convictions for any misdemeanor of violence. Certain other non-violent misdemeanors can also prevent membership (such as theft, falsification, criminal conduct, etc.) but these are handled on a case-by-case basis.
If you would like to check-out one of the meetings feel free to reply with a date you'd like to attend and we'll be sure everything is ready for you to get started! If you have any questions, feel free to call our Public Safety Corps Office at (614)724-4642.
You can also visit our website to see what the PSC program has to offer.
