Bus Routing Information is in Your Parent Portal Starting August 18!
Transportation eligible families will receive their child's bus routing information in the Transportation tab located in Parent Portal. Students enrolled in the district by August 4, 2025, will receive their updated transportation information after August 18, 2025.
Bus route information for Woodcrest Elementary will be available starting July 23.

Back-To-School 2025/2026
Kindergarten
Kindergarten orientation days will be 8/25, 8/26 and 8/27 by appointment.
Parents of kindergarten students will be contacted by the kindergarten teacher to schedule an appointment for the orientation/assessment. Parents should plan to bring the child to the appointment and are required to stay with their child on the assessment day.
Kindergarten orientation day is a one-on-one time with the teacher. Parents are advised to use this time to share with the teacher any health issues/concerns, food allergies, and how the child will be dropped off and picked up for school.
August 28 is the first day of school for all kindergarten students.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grades
August 25 is the first day of school for all first, second, and third grade students.

AVALON ELEMENTARY AWARDED $10,000 STEM GRANT
May 9, 2023 -- Avalon Elementary School has been awarded a $10,000 grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s DriveOhio initiative. The school is the first Columbus City School to receive the foundational DriveOhio Smart Mobility Ambassador Equipment Grant, through the Ohio Department of Transportation.
