Dedicated to Excellence in Education
April 1, 2021 -- Highland Elementary School partnered with Feed The Kids Columbus to provide food bags to students over spring break. Food bags were prepared and passed out to student groups in cohorts A and B on the days leading up to spring break.
“We are really trying to break down barriers and make sure our kids get what they need,” said Michelle Deime, Highland Elementary School Principal. “Our core value is the 'whole child.' We work hard not only on academics but social-emotional well being too.”
According to Feed the Kids' mission statement, the organization was founded in 2019. Feed the Kids works to serve and advocate for the students in Ohio that need them most. In partnership with the community and local schools, the group provides supplemental groceries to those on the free/reduced lunch programs over extended school breaks.
