WATCH: Superintendent's Report - December 15, 2020

Dec. 16, 2020 -- Superintendent/CEO Dr. Talisa Dixon provided an extensive, data-driven report to the Board of Education and Columbus City Schools community on Tuesday evening. 

The five areas Dr. Dixon and her leadership team focused on included: 

  • Student Attendance and Enrollment Data
  • Academic Challenges including Grading and Course Content Priorities
  • Student Supports including Social Emotional Learning, Technology, and Food Service
  • Partnerships
  • Return to School Update

Dr. Dixon stressed that all students need a fair chance to succeed, and while the COVID-19 pandemic has prevailed for the last nine months, the District and community should focus on helping students achieve and succeed.

World Language Middle School Presentation

The leaders of the planning team for the new World Language Middle School presented an update to the Board of Education on Tuesday evening.  

The World Language Middle School team includes:

  • Keith Harris - Area Superintendent, Region 4
  • Elizabeth McNally - School Leadership Coach, Region 4
  • Michael Sain - ESL Director
  • Sandra Santos - Principal, World Language Middle School
  • Zachary Riggs - Principal, Columbus North International School
