Columbus Board of Education President Jennifer Adair Honored by OSBA
November 2, 2022 -- Columbus Board of Education President Jennifer Adair was recently recognized by the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) for her contributions as a member of the OSBA Board of Trustees, the association’s governing body.
In its 67th year, OSBA’s mission is to lead the way to educational excellence by serving Ohio’s public school board members and the diverse districts they represent.
OSBA Deputy Chief Executive Dr. Kathy McFarland and Senior Membership Engagement Consultant Mark Bobo presented Adair with a plaque on Tuesday at the Columbus Board of Education meeting.
“As a member-driven association, OSBA’s mission would not be accomplished without the work of dedicated members who serve as leaders of the association,” said Dr. McFarland. “We recognize that being a board member can be a full-time job. Taking on the additional responsibility of serving at the state level is a significant additional commitment.
“We are here tonight to recognize and thank one of our valued leaders of the association, Jennifer Adair.”
In addition to serving on the OSBA Board of Trustees, Adair is a member of the association’s Central Region Executive Committee and OSBA Black Caucus. She also serves as one of OSBA’s Ambassadors for Public Education.
Adair is in her fourth year serving on the Columbus Board of Education and is a proud Centennial High School alumna.
She expressed gratitude and enthusiasm to continue the important work ahead serving CCS with OSBA’s support.
“Thank you OSBA and thank you board members. We all know how important this organization is,” said Adair. “We’ve talked about how strategically we need to leverage that - about what we should be doing as political leaders. This is about working with all of the political leaders in the school board space. We have a lot of work to do, and we look forward to it.”
The OSBA also presented a plaque to the Columbus Board of Education, acknowledging that successful leaders come from successful and supportive school boards.
“Thank you for your support of President Adair and for sharing her with the OSBA as she works on behalf of school boards across the state of Ohio,” said Dr. McFarland.
Congratulations and thank you Board President Jennifer Adair and all Columbus Board of Education members!
