Viewing the Board Meeting

The Columbus Board of Education regular business meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Southland Center (3700 S. High St.). 

Meeting attendees will need to enter the north-facing door toward the west end of the building.

Meeting Agenda Topics

The meeting agenda topics include:

7.3 - Supporting a Whole-Child Focus, the Board will introduce a resolution to support the Coalition to End Tobacco Targeting's initiative to end the sale of flavored tobacco.

13.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities For All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with I Know I Can for a Career Exploration and Awareness Pilot to accelerate postsecondary and workforce readiness for middle and high school students.

14.2 - Supporting a Whole-Child Focus, Equitable Opportunities for All, and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase agreement with Curriculum Management Solutions, Inc. This will provide our Immersion educators high quality immersion programming, curriculum, and strategies with a focus on supporting culturally responsive, student-centered, engaging instruction.

16.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Authentic Engagement, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services to provide an additional Bilingual Family Engagement Liaison to engage with and support the growing number of  Portuguese-speaking families coming into the District.

24.1 - Ensuring Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase agreement with Battelle for Kids to provide consulting services to implement the identified actions in the Wallace Equity Centered Principal Pipeline Initiative grant.

28.1 - The Board will conclude with an Executive Session, per Section 121.22 (G)(1) Ohio Revised Code, to consider the appointment, employment, or compensation of public employees and per Section 121.22 (G)(4) to prepare for, conduct, or review negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees concerning their compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment.

Making a Public Comment

Any public participant wishing to make comments has the option of addressing the Board in person or by telephone. To sign up, public participants must call to leave a voicemail with Customer Relations at 614-365-8888 or email customerrelations@columbus.k12.oh.us by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15. Speakers will need to provide their name, topic, and phone number.
