Viewing the Board Meeting

The Columbus Board of Education regular business meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Southland Center (3700 S. High St.).  

Meeting attendees will need to enter the north-facing door toward the west end of the building.

Meeting Agenda Topics

The meeting agenda topics include:

5.1 - Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon will provide an executive report with updates regarding transportation and Pathway Express.

8.2 - Supporting a Whole-Child Focus, the Board will vote to adopt a resolution in support of the Coalition to End Tobacco Targeting’s initiative to end the sale of flavored tobacco. 

14.1 - Supporting a Whole-Child Focus, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with ETR Associates, a science-based health and education curricular program. The Get Real curriculum developed by ETR, aims to equip students with skills in self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness, and responsible decision-making. 

14.2 - Supporting Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with The Ohio State University to provide professional training for Gifted and Talented teachers. The professional knowledge of the Gifted and Talented teachers will provide enrichment learning opportunities that will support and advance student achievement.

14.6 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase of service agreement with Friends Office Supply to ensure students receive the resources needed for equitable access to Summer Experience.

24.1 - The Board will vote to adopt a resolution for Columbus North International School to be renamed effective the 2023-2024 school year, returning to the school's original name, Columbus International High School, since it now only serves grades 9-12, and is no longer located at the North High School historical site.

28.1 - The Board will conclude with an Executive Session per Section 121.22 (G)(1) Ohio Revised Code, to consider the appointment, employment, or compensation of public employees.

Making a Public Comment

Any public participant wishing to make comments has the option of addressing the Board in person or by telephone. To sign up, public participants must call to leave a voicemail with Customer Relations at 614-365-8888 or email customerrelations@columbus.k12.oh.us by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6. Speakers will need to provide their name, topic, and phone number.
