Meeting Agenda Topics
The meeting agenda topics include:
14.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Bookelicious. The CCS At-Home Library Initiative began in an effort to combat the statistic that 61% of families in low-income households have no books in the home for children. The initiative tackles this statistic head-on by providing all students in grades K-5 the opportunity to personalize their at-home library books.
14.4 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a four-year purchase adoption and servicing agreement with Achieve3000, Inc. The four-year online subscription is accompanied by professional development to support high school literacy intervention for grades 9-11. The contract ensures consistency in the delivery and implementation of a District literacy intervention resource for high schools throughout the District.
16.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to purchase preventative maintenance boiler services from Ohio Heating & Air Conditioning Co for new and renovated buildings.
23.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for all, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into the Purchase Services Agreement with Buckeyes Best Medical Transportation for students experiencing homelessness and/or in the foster care system to receive timely transportation. CCS complies with the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which requires schools to immediately enroll children and youth, including unaccompanied youth and preschool age children, who are experiencing homelessness and/or in the foster care system, even if they lack required documents such as immunization records or proof of residence. The federal laws also require that these youth have transportation to and from their school of origin and other school related activities, if it is in the student’s best interest.
