Board of Education Meeting

Tuesday, December 5, at 6:00 p.m., Southland Center (3700 S. High St.)

Viewing the Board Meeting 

The Columbus Board of Education’s regular business meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at  Southland Center (3700 S. High Street).

Meeting attendees will need to enter the north-facing door toward the west end of the building.

The Columbus Board of Education will hold regular office hours before all regular business meetings from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. The office hours will allow community members to meet with Board members one-on-one, ask questions, and share their thoughts and concerns.

Meeting Agenda Topics

The meeting agenda topics include:

14.1 - Supporting Whole-Child Supports, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a service agreement with SchooLinks Inc. SchooLinks is a complete self-guided experience for students to plan courses for their academic careers. It provides the ability for students to plan throughout middle school and high school. 

15.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Charles River Associates for FY24. The District will be using the forensic team of Charles River Associates. These funds will only be expended if a cyber security breach requires the use of outside expertise.  While there is not an expectation of an incident, these funds need to be available to provide the needed expertise should an event arise.

15.2 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into an agreement with Baker Hostetler for FY24. Baker Hostetler will be the law firm the District will be using for cyber breach advice. These funds will only be expended if a cyber security breach requires the use of outside counsel.  While there is not an expectation of an incident, these funds need to be available to provide the needed expertise should an event arise.

25.1 - Supporting Whole-Child Supports and Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase of services agreement with Catapult Learning West LLC. Catapult Learning West LLC will provide Math Intervention that will support the education program for students at Cristo Rey. The service will be purchased to support the nonpublic school as mandated by the ORC 3317.06 and 3317.024 for providing Title I services to nonpublic schools based on the school's request.

Board Meeting - Public Comment Registration

Any public participant wishing to make comments can address the Board in person or by telephone. To sign up, public participants must call to leave a voicemail with Customer Relations at 614-365-8888 or email customerrelations@columbus.k12.oh.us by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5. Speakers will need to provide their name, topic, and phone number.
