Viewing the Board Meeting
The Columbus Board of Education’s regular business meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Southland Center (3700 S. High Street). Meeting attendees will need to enter the north-facing door toward the west end of the building.

Regular office hours are canceled.
The Columbus Board of Education will hold an organizational meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. in room 825. All Board members will take their oath of office, in addition to determining leadership roles and the 2024 meeting calendar. Click here to view the organizational meeting agenda.
Prior to the organizational meeting, the Board will hold a public reception honoring Jennifer Adair, Sarah Ingles, Dr. Tina Pierce, and Brandon Simmons. The public is invited to RSVP at william6@columbus.k12.oh.us and join our BOE members as they begin their new terms.
Meeting Agenda Topics
The meeting agenda topics include:
13.1 - Supporting Equitable Opportunities for All and Whole-Child Focused, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to enter into a purchase service agreement with Haugland Learning Center DBA Lamarche and Ramage, LLC. Empower Behavioral Health and Intervention Autism Intervention Center (AIC) or services for a student. These companies educate students with serious and complex behavioral and educational challenges. The Empower Behavioral Health and Intervention utilizes evidence-based methodologies and data-based strategies to encourage social, emotional, and behavioral success. They also offer differentiated instruction based on each student's strengths and needs.
18.1 - Supporting Authentic Engagement and Equitable Opportunities for All, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to approve the contract with A&E Glass and Aluminum, Inc., for Glass Replacement & Repair at Westmoor Middle School and Highland Elementary School. The District continues its efforts to reduce the amount of deferred maintenance and to gradually improve the condition of district facilities through a series of targeted improvements across multiple disciplines at multiple facilities. At least two facilities have been prioritized for glass replacement and repairs and will be improved through this contract.
23.1 - Supporting Authentic Engagement, Strong Learning Communities in Every Region, Equitable Opportunities for All, and Whole-Child Focused, the Board will be asked to authorize the administration to authorize Columbus Alternative High School (CAHS) to purchase a Service Agreement with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We implemented a new philosophy several years ago, resulting in broader IB course access. As part of the school Vision Statement (stated below) broader access to IB courses was implemented by offering the IB English Standard Level course to all juniors as their required 11th grade English course. Currently, over 300 students are enrolled in one or more IB Courses at CAHS.

Any public participant wishing to make comments can address the Board in person or by telephone. To sign up, public participants must call to leave a voicemail with Customer Relations at 614-365-8888 or email customerrelations@columbus.k12.oh.us by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9. Speakers will need to provide their name, topic, and phone number.
