Wednesday, June 1 is Safer Together Appreciation Day!
June 1, 2022 -- In Columbus City Schools, we’ve long recognized that we are all safer when we work together to prioritize safety, when we act together to protect each other, and when we speak out together about the need to keep our schools safe.
Essential to this effort are the 104 dedicated men and women in our Office of Safety & Security. They build the kinds of foundational relationships with our students and staff that are key to creating a culture of safety and responsibility. Whenever called upon, they answer without hesitation to keep every person out of harm’s way. And in their well-recognized blue shirts, they are a visible reminder of our district’s constant commitment to safe schools.
So as we close out the school year, we pause on this June 1st to recognize our dedicated Safety & Security team with the first “Safer Together Appreciation Day.” Please join us in thanking these committed individuals for their countless hours of working together to keep us safer!
As an added show of appreciation, our friends at the Columbus Crew are graciously providing to each member of the Safety & Security team two free tickets to an upcoming home match… as one more example of how we truly are SAFER TOGETHER.
June is National Safety Month. The National Safety Council is America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate that focuses on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths.
