Dear CCS Community,

It is with a heavy heart I send one of my final weekly messages for the school year. While we have been planning and looking forward to summer and graduation celebrations, we are now grieving over the innocent lives lost in Uvalde, Texas.  Another senseless act of school violence - leaving families, friends, and an entire community heartbroken. 

My heart goes out to the victims’ families and the entire Uvalde community. I would also like to take this time to reiterate my commitment to you; to always keep the safety of students, teachers, and staff my top priority.

Whenever school violence occurs, no matter where it may be, it causes fear and anxiety for students, staff, and families everywhere. While there is no simple fix, we are committed to doing everything possible to support our students and keep our schools safe. Every child and every school employee deserves to learn and work in a safe space. Please read my safety message from earlier this week to learn how we are working together to create a safe school environment for all our students and staff. 

Let us join together and take care of one another so we may have a safe, strong finish next week.

Memorial Day - May 30

As a reminder, today is the start of a long holiday weekend. There are no classes on Monday, and all administrative offices will be closed as we observe Memorial Day.

While you enjoy the long weekend that has come to signify the “unofficial” start of summer, I encourage you to take a moment to remember those who made it possible. Memorial Day is a day to recognize and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. For them, I am grateful.
