Winning applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; document community service, extracurriculars, work experience, and need; include a portfolio of his/her best work demonstrating excellence in journalism or communications; secure a recommendation from a teacher or advisor; and participate in an interview where he/she presents their portfolio.
