This was a collaboration between United Way of Central Ohio and Columbus City Schools. On Thursday, November 17th United Way and CCS staff members distributed new winter coats to Beatty Park students.

Southwood Elementary School Librarian Lisette Bass joins our #TogetherWeReadCCS virtual storytime to take us on an adventure.
The Board will also take one business meeting each month to school sites across the District, making the meetings more accessible to the community.
Dr. Carol Tolman, an international literacy consultant and co-author of LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), visited teachers for a training session. LETRS is a tool that will help teachers understand how a child’s brain works as they learn to read.
In February, Columbus City Schools launched the Academic Calendars Survey for CCS community members to gather comments and feedback about the proposed calendars for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years.
Dr. Mixon served Columbus Public Schools as Superintendent for five years from 1993-1997. He created a new Strategic Plan for Columbus Public Schools, emphasizing academic achievement, fiscal responsibility, healthy learning environments, and parent involvement.
Started last year by the Student and Family Engagement Office, the Check & Connect initiative provides an opportunity for schools to connect with families in a positive, helpful way and identify supports parents might need.
Columbus City Schools is partnering with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, PrimaryOne Health, and Spectrum News 1 to make education and health-related resources more accessible across the Greater Columbus community with the launch of the Edu+Health Caravan.
