The 2025 Summer Experience is FREE to all Pre-K through 12 Columbus City Schools students! Summer Experience for Pre-K through 8 students kicks off June 23, and June 9 for high school students. Columbus Africentric Early College is a Title I school. Based on our student Academic growth below the state minimum requirements and overall school student poverty level, we receive Federal money for students, teachers and family support:
Teacher Professional Development
Funds to purchase specified student materials to support Reading and Math Achievement
Instructional Coaches
Funds to support additional after school tutoring for students
Parent engagement activities
All students are expected to wear dress code.
Grades 9-12: Black polo tops and khaki bottoms.
Grades PK-8: Purple polo tops and khaki bottoms.
This is an expectation that is strictly enforced.

With the help of community partners like North Broadway United Methodist, schools like Indianola Informal K-8, Clinton Elementary, and Valleyview Elementary students and their families are able to have invaluable meals together on weekends or breaks when school is out.
The final stop of the 2024-25 Pathway Express was nothing short of spectacular, as families flocked to the sprawling greens of Champions Golf Course for a day packed with energy, laughter, and learning.
As part of our continued efforts, Superintendent/CEO Dr. Angela Chapman invites you to attend Fair School Funding: A CCS Community Town Hall hosted by the Columbus Board of Education on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at East High School, located at 1500 E. Broad Street.
This year’s event marked the 6th Annual HBCU Experience, and it was our biggest yet—welcoming nearly 800 students from across the district and featuring 22 different HBCUs.
