Africentric Boys' Basketball Heads To State Final Four This Weekend
March 17, 2023 -- On the heels of the girls' basketball team capturing the state championship, Columbus Africentric Early College will be looking to do the double. The school's boys' basketball team was able to secure their spot in the OHSAA Final Four with a 55-38 victory over South Point High School this past week at Ohio University.
The Nubians (23-5) were led by four-star University of Xavier commit Dailyn Swain. Swain is a two-time District Player of the Year. He will be looking to lead the Nubians to a bit of revenge after last year's Final Four loss to Ottawa-Glandorf (24-3) -- those same two teams will play Saturday at the University of Dayton Arena.
The Nubians are headed to Dayton looking to advance to their first state title game since 2018, where they finished as runners-up. The winner of Saturday's game will play the winner of Harvest Prep and Lutheran East on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. for the state championship.
