WATCH: Columbus City Schools Celebrates the Power of Partnerships
December 14, 2022 -- Columbus City Schools’ commitment to success is more than classroom investments. It also includes the District’s investments in meaningful, authentic engagement across the Greater Columbus community.
On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the District hosted its third annual Power of One Partnership Convocation to celebrate these relationships and the collective impact on transforming our community and public education.
“We can’t do this work alone,” said Superintendent/CEO Dr. Talisa Dixon. “It takes all of us - teachers, families, staff, and partners - working together as the "Power of One" to prepare our students for success in the classroom and life.
“We’re so fortunate to have partners walking side-by-side with us and creating new experiences for students along the way. I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll continue to echo that authentic engagement is a driving factor in our ability to transform our collective vision for Columbus City Schools and Central Ohio,” Dixon continued.
Columbus State Community College welcomed hundreds of guests to showcase community partners and their work supporting educators, helping CCS navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, and engaging families by connecting them with resources.
“Even before the pandemic, there was an emphasis on partnerships and building a bridge between CCS and our community. The Power of One Partnership Convocation is our chance to say ‘thank you’ and recognize our partners for their dedication and support,” Dr. Dixon said.
The goals for the success of Columbus City Schools’ students, now and in the future, have shaped every priority in the District’s Strategic Plan, including growing the partner ecosystem through authentic engagement. Through school-community collaboration, CCS and its partners can continue to be impactful for students, families, and staff across the district.
