CCS Announces New Principalships for of the 2024-2025 School Year
September 4, 2024 -- Columbus City Schools is pleased to announce two new principalships as part of the 2024-2025 school year.
Ecole Kenwood French Immersion
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Alexandra Miller as the new Principal at Ecole Kenwood French Immersion Elementary School. Alexandra’s extensive experience and dedication to creating an inclusive learning environment perfectly align with our school's mission. Her passion for French culture and language education is evident in her remarkable achievements and will surely inspire our school community.
Alexandra has been an important part of Columbus City Schools since 2012, serving in various roles including as a teacher, Immersion Coordinator, and Leadership Intern. In her recent position as a Leadership Intern at Ecole Kenwood French Immersion Elementary School and Indian Springs Elementary School, she has worked closely with teachers to implement effective strategies, ensuring equitable access to learning resources for all students.
In addition to her educational experience, Alexandra is deeply committed to promoting global languages and cultures. As a member of the American Association of Teachers of French and the French American Chamber of Commerce of Ohio, she consistently demonstrates her dedication to preserving international languages.
With a Master of Education in Middle Childhood and Science from The Ohio State University, Alexandra's qualifications for the role are extensive. Her commitment to fostering a culturally vibrant learning environment is reflected in her significant achievements, such as receiving the 2022 Wallace Foundation Equity-Centered Pipeline Initiative Grant Award and contributing to the published work "Differentiating Education for Children with Disabilities.”
Alexandra’s passion for education and French culture, combined with her track record of fostering student success, make her an outstanding fit for the role of Principal at Ecole Kenwood French Immersion Elementary School. Hubbard Elementary School
We are excited to announce the appointment of Kendra McGaughy as the new Principal of Hubbard Elementary School. Kendra brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fostering an equitable and engaging learning environment for all students.
Since joining Columbus City Schools in 2003, Kendra has been a dedicated educator, serving in various roles, including teacher and Leadership Intern. Most recently, she served as a Leadership Intern at Oakland Park Elementary School, where she collaborated closely with teachers to implement evidence-based strategies and data-driven instruction, ensuring that each student has equitable access to learning resources. Her extensive experience and proven success make her an excellent fit for the Principal role at Hubbard Elementary School.
Kendra's educational background further underscores her qualifications. She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University and has completed her Certificate in Principal Licensure from the same institution.
Kendra’s passion for education and leadership is evident and inspiring. Her unwavering commitment to student success, demonstrated through her strong relationships with students, staff, and families, aligns perfectly with our school's mission and will undoubtedly inspire our entire community.
