SLC Students Run Snack Delivery Service

Each day, Lauren Johnston, an intervention specialist at West, and a group of her students load up their Food Frenzy snack cart with chips, drinks, popcorn, cookies, and more. They bring the cart around the building to fulfill staff orders.

The cart is a chance for Specialized Learning Center students to gain real-world skills. For each delivery, students check in with the teacher, find their orders, take their payment, and give them their change. Students love running the Food Frenzy cart; for many of them, it is a high point of their school day. Read what some students had to say about the cart below!

-The best part of the snack cart for me is that we (the students) were able to name it. I also enjoy delivering the snacks. -Breonna Judd

-I think we should put a banner on the cart and the banner would say "People love snacks!" If we do big deliveries we should upgrade with a bigger cart. -Quintin Landis

-I like to inventory the cart. -Gabriel Cabrera Merino
