Columbus City Schools and Columbus Metropolitan Library Partner to Offer Winter Reading Challenge
Even in this remote learning environment, Columbus City Schools (CCS) is encouraging students to take time to step away from the computer and pick up a book. CCS is partnering with the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Online Winter Reading Challenge that kicked off this week. All Columbus City School students can win a prize pack depending on the number of books and literacy activities you complete in the next two months.
The Online Winter Reading Challenge began December 1 and ends January 30th. The goal is to get students to read for six hours and complete six reading activities of their choice. If the student completes the reading challenge, they will receive a prize pack that includes a book, bookmark, and mechanical pencil.
Students can register for the Winter Reading Challenge at by clicking here.
- Each student must sign up separately
- Prize packs will be mailed to the students’ homes
- It’s free!
K-6 teachers can also register their entire classroom for the Online Winter Reading Challenge. Teachers sign up soon; the deadline is December 20 since the supply for classroom prize packs is limited.
Happy Reading!
