    Principal’s Message

Welcome to Johnson Park Middle School, home of the mighty Panthers!

I am so excited and honored to serve as the new principal of Johnson Park Middle School.  I have served in Columbus City Schools for the past twenty-one years.  I proudly say that I began my teaching career here at Johnson Park.  As an instructional leader, I aspire to utilize the most effective research based strategies and interventions to equip our students in academic and social growth.

As a staff, we have challenged ourselves to regularly participate in professional development so that we have access to tools that are relevant, current, and are best practices.  Additionally, we seek new opportunities and ways of teaching to enhance instruction for our students.  We also strive to ensure that learning is equitable, inclusive, and rigorous.  Our work is aligned to the priorities of Columbus City Schools, with the focus of our great region, Region 2, and to the vision, mission, and core values which are data-driven and promote a growth mindset.

We pride ourselves on working to create a strong and safe learning environment that embraces the individual needs of every student.  Our school dress code policy makes it easier to identify our students.  While our PBIS program reinforces the positive behavior displayed by our students.  We look forward to the implementation of our new PBIS model.  As we prepare for in person learning, we are assessing the best programs that our students will have the opportunity to participate in.  District sports are offered to 7th and 8th grade students, but there are a number of programs and activities available to all of our students.

The staff at Johnson Park understands that we need our Panther Parents in order to be successful.  Parents, you will receive regularly communication and updates about our instructional strategies and progress towards reaching our goals.  We are planning a number of parent meetings to create learning alliances with our students and parents.  You are officially invited to join in the collective partnership as we educate and celebrate the whole child!  We truly thank you in advance for your support and partnership.

    Yours in Education,

    Staci Rouse,

    Principal
