September 19, 2024 -- Students at Northland are learning the game of Handball thanks to Physical Education Teacher Zach Fleer. Fleer was watching the women's handball team compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics when he sent out a tweet to his followers expressing his desire to teach his students the game. Ohio State Handball Club Coach JD Orr, served as the assistant coach for Team USA Handball this past summer. Orr saw Fleer's tweet and responded with an offer that was almost too good to be true. Before he knew it, Orr was in-person at Northland to personally teach the students how to play the game. Fleer and Orr hope instances such as these grow the sport of Handball across the country.
