Columbus City Schools, I Know I Can, and the City of Columbus came together to celebrate the Class of 2020 during the “Reach Higher: All Seniors In” Convocation at the Columbus Convention Center on September 20. More than 2,100 students from the Districts 19 high schools attended the event aimed at inspiring all students to take charge of their future and complete an education past high school, serve in the military or start a career.

The Columbus Board of Education at a special meeting Monday morning voted unanimously to approve a three-year contract agreement with the Columbus Education Association (CEA), the union representing the District’s 4,000 teachers, nurses, counselors, social workers and other education professionals.

Independence High School will be hosting an AIR Test Bootcamp on the following dates................
Saturday November 10, 2018 9am to 1pm
Saturday November 17, 2018 9am to 1pm
Saturday December 1, 2018 9am to 1pm
This bootcamp is designed to provide your students with tutuoring and testing strategies to help them prepare for the AIR Test. There will also be a parent informational session explaining what the AIR test is and how parents can help prepare their students. Additionally, there will be an informational session for students to attend describing the importance of protecting the testing environment and ensuring it is not disrupted.

Dear Parents and Students,
The class of 2019, 2020 and 2021 will be participating in AIR retakes December 3 through December 21, 2018.
The AIR test replaced the OGT testing requirement.
Students must earn at least 18 points on seven end of course state tests. These test include:
Algebra I or Integrated Math I
Geometry or Integrated Math II
Each test score earns you up to 5 graduation points. You must have a minimum of four points between the 2 math tests, four points between the 2 English tests and 6 points across science and social studies. Four more points must come from somewhere over these tests for a total of 18 points.
