Kenneth L. Howard Endowed Scholarship
The Kenneth L. Howard Endowed Scholarship Fund targets assisting area African American male high school students who are U.S. residents in need of financial assistance for college.
We accept applications from all students with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and higher. Generally, KLHSF applicants exhibit great potential and character. KLHSF applicants are usually involved in the community at large and partake in extracurricular school activities.
The Kenneth L. Howard Endowed Scholarship Fund, in conjunction with the Columbus Kappa Foundation, will offer partial scholarships to area students. The amount of the partial scholarship generally ranges between $1,000 - $1,500. During the 2023-2024 school year, ten scholars were awarded partial scholarships.
Applications are due November 1st.

Green Teen Alliance Conference
This exciting event brings togethers students in grades 6-12 interested in urban agriculture, environmental careers, food systems, horticulture, and sustainability. Attendees will enjoy a day filled with career exploration and engaging panels. It's schedule for October 19th from 9:30am-4:30pm. Lunch will be provided. Green Flags Youth Advisory Council
Work with other teens to raise awareness, promote, and support healthy relationships. Earn a $25 gift card for every meeting attended. Check out the flyer to learn more & apply.

Denison Columbus Alliance
The Denison-Columbus Alliance (DCA) program welcomes up to 20 high-achieving students from Columbus City Schools to attend Denison each year. Students in the DCA program receive total grant aid of at least full tuition for four years. The DCA program is offered in collaboration with Columbus City Schools and its college access partner, I Know I Can. Deadline to complete an interest form is November 1st. Students must complete an application to Denison by November 15th. DO NOT complete the interest form without speaking to your counselor or I Know I Can rep first!
