    * For prom, all non-IHS students must be approved by an administrator before a ticket will be sold. Visitor forms are available in the main office.

    * A receipt and a ticket will be given for each event.

    * There will be a list of names at the door of all persons paid.

  • Cols. Health Dept will offer a free vaccine clinic here at school on Tues., April16th at 8:00AM to give the Meningitis vaccine to any current 11th grader who turns in a signed consent.

    This vaccine is required for all seniors in the state of Ohio.  Students will be notified by me next week   and consent forms will be sent home to those who do not have proof of having received this vaccine yet. The deadline to turn the consent in is Friday March 22.

  • The ACT test day for juniors cohort 2020 has been rescheduled for Tuesday February 26th, 2019.  The school will still be running on a 4 hour delayed schedule with a double bus run.  


    Seniors still needing Workkeys will also test on this date.

  • Dear Families, 


    Independence High School will be hosting an AIR Test Bootcamp on the following dates................ 

    Saturday November 10, 2018 9am to 1pm

    Saturday November 17, 2018 9am to 1pm

    Saturday December 1, 2018 9am to 1pm 

    This bootcamp is designed to provide your students with tutuoring and testing strategies to help them prepare for the AIR Test.  There will also be a parent informational session explaining what the AIR test is and how parents can help prepare their students.  Additionally, there will be an informational session for students to attend describing the importance of protecting the testing environment and ensuring it is not disrupted.

  • Dear Parents and Students, 


    The class of 2019, 2020 and 2021 will be participating in AIR retakes December 3 through December 21, 2018.

    The AIR test replaced the OGT testing requirement. 

    Students must earn at least 18 points on seven end of course state tests.  These test include:

    Algebra I or Integrated Math I 

    Geometry or Integrated Math II

    English I

    English II


    American History 

    American Government 

    Each test score earns you up to 5 graduation points.  You must have a minimum of four points between the 2 math tests, four points between the 2 English tests and 6 points across science and social studies.  Four more points must come from somewhere over these tests for a total of 18 points.
